Summary of the Book

Anne of Green Gables recounts the adventures of Anne Shirley, a spunky, cheerful and everyone’s favorite red-head. Anne was an orphan girl who was mistakenly sent to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert, a middle-aged brother and sister. The Cuthbert's had wanted to adopt a boy to help them on their farm outside Avonlea, Prince Edward Island. Feisty and spirited, Anne soon charms her way into Cuthbert’s affection with her adorable ways, but it is not long before she lands herself in a big trouble.
