Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer

Eclipse is the third novel in the Twilight Saga authored by Stephenie Meyer. This was preceded by New Moon and was followed by Breaking Dawn. It was the fourth bestselling book of 2008 and has been adapted into a movie which released on June 30, 2010.

Summary of the Book

Eclipse continues the story of Isabella Swan and her vampire love, Edward Cullen. The book explores Bella's compromise between her love for Edward and her friendship with werewolf Jacob Black. The story begins with Seattle getting ravaged by string of mysterious murders, which according to Edward is caused by a group of newborn vampire controlled by Victoria. Bella once again finds herself in the midst danger and she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob. She well aware that her decision has the potential to ignite the never ending  conflict between vampire and werewolf. With their graduation approaching, Bella has one of the most important decisions of her life. Who will Bella choose and will she be able to survive Victoria’s wrath?

About Stephenie Meyer

Stephenie Meyer is an American producer and children’s author who is known for the Twilight series, which is a young-adult vampire-romance saga. She has written four novels as part of the Twilight series - Breaking Dawn, New Moon, Eclipse, and Twilight. She has written The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide and The Short Second Life Of Bree Tanner as supplements to the Twilight series. She has also written a sci-fi novel called The Host, and a collection of stories named Prom Nights From Hell.

Meyer was born Stephenie Morgan on December 24, 1973, in Hartford, Connecticut. She was raised along with her five siblings in Phoenix, Arizona. She studied at the Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. In 1997, she graduated with a BA in literature from the Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In 2008, Stephenie was named Author Of The Year by USA Today. She also earned the second spot on Amazon’s list of bestselling authors of the decade. She is married to Christian Meyer. The couple has three sons - Eli, Seth, and Gabe. She currently lives in Cave Creek, Arizona, with her family.
