Our Iceberg Is Melting: Changing And Succeeding Under Any Conditions gives profound insight into the phenomenon of change through an allegorical tale of an Antarctic penguin colony.

Summary Of The Book

Our Iceberg Is Melting: Changing And Succeeding Under Any Conditions is a simple tale about a colony of penguins, through which the author gives readers the key to handling change.

The story is about a colony of emperor penguins who have been living on an iceberg in Antarctica. Only one inquisitive penguin named Fred realises that their habitat is changing rapidly - the iceberg is melting. His attempts to warn the others are futile as no one is willing to listen to him. He devises a clever plan to convince a few key characters, such as the head penguin Louis and the weather expert NoNo, about the state of their home.

The readers can find uncanny resemblances to their own lives in the behavior of the different characters. Through the story of Fred, the author seeks to equip the readers with helpful strategies for handling change, overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles, and conquering the resistance to positive change. He establishes a change management model comprising eight stages to help readers push for smarter, faster change.

The book’s content is applicable in any area of life. Its application could serve the readers well in today’s rapidly changing world, given that change is the only certainty in life.

Our Iceberg Is Melting: Changing And Succeeding Under Any Conditions was published in 2006. It received positive reviews for its delightful storyline as well as deep insight into an important, relevant subject. It even formed the basis for “Leading Bold Change - Creating Leaders At All Levels”, a comprehensive training program for nurturing leadership.
